Future is uncertain, but the present is in your hand. You can plan your future, anywhere taking the English proficiency level test. English-speaking countries accept visa applications with an English language certificate for a very obvious reason. That obvious reason is to make sure the person coming to their country is comfortable with English. As English is the language used for all kind of communication ranging from writing, reading, speaking and listening; therefore, it perfectly makes sense that the person is capable of doing the same. That’s why most international English exams are based on the same four modules as the purpose of most English language testing exams is to test a candidate’s English skills in all language modules. Now, it is not that simple. You might have good English communication skills, but if you are not familiar with the format of English language assessment test, it would negatively impact your band score.

See the purpose is not to pass the international English examination as there is no pass or fail limit. The main purpose is to get the international English certificate with minimum or above the minimum band score required to apply for the visa in the chosen country. Different countries have different minimum band score requirement; furthermore, the university/institute also have different minimum band score requirement. Tips for all modules: build vocabulary, work on your grammar and punctuation, acquire knowledge on current topic or possible topics you have to write on during the test. Always get your answer sheet checked by the expert to know what you need to improve and what you do best.

Most people consider the speaking module challenging. So, here are few tips for scoring well in the English speaking assessment test-

1. Practice role-playing with the expert, using the sample cue card.

2. Learn to make the best use of given preparation time.

3. During the prep. time, make your notes, or write down talking points to get back to when you feel stuck during the conversation.

4. Try not to divert from the topic and talking points given in the cue card.

5. Do not take big pauses or breaks.

6. Work on your body language, look confident and keep in mind your hand movement and sitting posture. It all counts.

7. Most importantly be confident and open to conversation. Do not look reserved or hesitant, as that would never work in your favour.

Remember, practice is the key. Analyse your mistakes or weakness and work on them to improve yourself. Always focus on your goal and believe in yourself.
